Fraser Island's 261-room Kingfisher Bay Resort is joining Accor's ever-growing network of hotels.

From 15 April, the hotel component of the popular Queensland resort will be rebranded as the Mercure Kingfisher Bay Resort Fraser Island.

Kingfisher Bay Resort offers modern accommodation, varied delicacies in its 3 restaurants and many bush walking tracks. It is located on the World Heritage listed Fraser Island, near Great Sandy Strait.

The eco-friendly resort offers spacious air-conditioned hotel rooms and self-contained villas. Accommodations feature a balcony, offering fantastic views of the natural surroundings.

Kingfisher Bay Resort features 4 swimming pools, each fitted with sun loungers. Guests can also take advantage of the eco-tours provided by Kingfisher's knowledgeable staff.

The resort is a 50-minute ferry crossing from River Heads in Hervey Bay.
