Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced the appointment of Phillip Couvaras as the general manager of Traders Upper East Hotel, Beijing.

An Australian national, Couvaras has 32 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including 12 years senior management experience in South Africa, Fiji, Australia, Zambia and Switzerland. Prior to this appointment, he was the general manager of the the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.
