Langham Hotels International (LHI) is continuing to grow from strength to strength, announcing a major upgrade to the luxury suites of its flagship hotel, The Langham, London, and creating a second £1 million presidential (level) suite - The Regent Suite. The upgrades follow on from The Langham, London's recent 're-awakening' in June 2009, where £80 million was spent on an extensive programme of restoration and refurbishment which has seen it regain its position as the original Grand Hotel of Europe. Designed by leading hotel and restaurant interior design specialists, Richmond International, the Regent Suite will be completed at the end of May 2010.
The hotel's additions and refurbishments are part of LHI's wider plan of expansion, in which the group will continue to reinvigorate its existing properties and open a further 24 hotels within the next three years, more than tripling its market share. This would bring the luxury hotel operator's portfolio to 34 projects operational or at various stages of development over four continents.
