Regal Hotels International has appointed Robert J. Gerber as general manager of Regal Riverside Hotel in Hong Kong, where also he takes the role of group director of projects.

He has over 30 years in the hospitality industry and his first posting as general manager posting was in 1985 at the Victoria Hotel in Hong Kong where he also held the position of area director of operations for New World Hotels. He has held other general manager positions with a number of international brands such as Swiss Grand Hotel in Seoul, Grand Formosa Regent Hotel in Taipei, Manila Hotel in the Philippines, Regent Hotel in Ningbo. Prior to joining Regal, Gerber was the general manager for the pre-opening and grand opening project of the New World Hotel, Dalian, China.
