Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, one of the most established hotels in the historic Thai resort region of Hua Hin, is strengthening its tether to the past with an activity cloaked in antiquity.
Launched this week, the resort's Heritage Tour allows guests to plumb the depths of Hua Hin's history with stops at some of the area's most storied attractions, including:
- Wat Mahathat, a temple influenced by Khmer and Ayuthaya architecture.
- Phra Nakhon Khiri, a palace that served as setting for the acclaimed 1956 musical The King and I.
- Khao Luang Cave, which houses more than 170 Buddha images or statues.
- Maruekatayawan Palace, a trio of spectacular teakwood pavilions designed by King Rama IV.

Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa's Heritage Tour begins at 8 a.m., concludes at 3:30 p.m. and costs THB 1,950 (about US$ 60) per person. In addition to historical sites, the day trip takes in one of Hua Hin's biggest fresh markets.
Bookings can be made at the Siam Adventure Tour desk, in the hotel lobby. A minimum of four tourists is required.
