Exploring the inner islands of the Seychelles before relaxing in the exotic sanctuary of a hilltop villa is a guest experience offered by Banyan Tree Seychelles. The 47-foot twin-hulled catamaran Banyan Lagoon I takes guests on bespoke sailing adventures before cruising back to the hotel for immersion in Mahe island life. Banyan Tree is the only hotel in the Seychelles to allow guests to plan their own route and choose the duration of their cruising adventure.

Cruising Adventure
Swift and smooth, modern and luxurious, Banyan Lagoon I is a dream holiday vessel. Couples or a group of four can charter the catamaran with a full crew and relax while sailing through the natural diversity of the Seychelles islands, including La Digue, Praslin, and Curieuse.

Anse Lazio on Praslin is one of the world's most exquisite beaches but the entire island is ringed with beautiful secluded bays, sporting coral reefs and crystal clear waters. Guests can also discover the remarkable Vallée de Mai, hidden in virgin forest, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984.

Close neighbour to Praslin, La Digue is the fourth largest island in Seychelles. Apart from hosting the Seychelles' black paradise flycatcher, one of the rarest birds on earth, La Digue's biodiversity features such stars as the chinese bittern, cave swiftlet, waxbill as well as two rare species of terrapin. The friendly atmosphere of this island with its relaxed pace of life, traditional architecture and breathtaking beaches, such as legendary Anse Source d’Argent, is an absolute must for visitors.

Curieuse island and its waters fall under the protection of the Curieuse National Marine Park and are home to a handful of families and a colony of Aldabra tortoises. The surrounding waters teem with marine life and are popular with divers. One of the best sites is the Coral Garden, a wide low outcrop covered in beautiful coral formations.

Island Life
When back on dry land, guests will relax in one of the 60 luxuriously appointed villas in the secluded hilltop Banyan Tree resort. Each villa has been carefully designed to blend seamlessly into the hilly terrain and lush tropical foliage, and feature contemporary Créole architecture and indigenous artifacts to offer guests a unique sense of place. Local artists were commissioned to produce paintings for the bedrooms based on the island’s legendary Coco-de-mer nut.

At the resort, guests can savour the Seychellois culture by enjoying Creole gourmet cuisine at the Chez Lamar restaurant set in a beautiful colonial style house amid the natural splendour of the lush wetlands. Creole cooking classes are also available at extra cost, during which guests are taken by the chef on a shopping trip to the market of the historic town of Victoria to purchase the fresh ingredients necessary to create a gastronomic Creole feast later at the resort.

The entire catamaran is available from Euro 3,500 (approx £3,000) per night, inclusive of all taxes and service charges, full-board meals, land transfers on Mahe and landing fees within the inner islands.
