Shenzhen Airlines Ltd has launched a roundtrip route from Quanzhou in Fujian province to Manila, the capital city of The Philippines. This is the first international route from Quanzhou Jinjiang Airport following its opening to international air traffic in 2009.

The flight will depart from Jinjiang Airport at 11:00, arrive at Manila at 13:00 and get back to Quanzhou at 16:00. From September 21, the flight will be scheduled for each Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Quanzhou is the hometown of about 7 million overseas Chinese, and 90% of these live in Southeast Asia. It is estimated 1.5 million overseas Chinese originating from Quanzhou live in The Philippines.

Shenzhen Airlines now has about 15 international routes in Southeast Asia and East Asia. On September 25, it will open a new route from Shenzhen to Singapore.
