Air Berlin, Germany's second largest airline is to boost capacity on its Jersey - Düsseldorf service from May 2010.

The airline will be replacing its 76 seater Bombardier Q400 for an Airbus A319 with a capacity of 144 passengers. The service will operate every Saturday from 1 May to 11 September 2010.

Scheduled flight time will be approximately one hour and twenty five minutes, departing on Saturdays from Jersey at 14.05 arriving Düsseldorf 16.25 local time. At Düsseldorf, convenient Air Berlin connections are offered to and from Berlin and Vienna. Flights return from Düsseldorf on Saturdays at 12.55 arriving 13.20 local time in Jersey.

Air Berlin Country Manager for UK and Ireland Titus Johnson commented: "The Jersey – Düsseldorf service has proven to be a success and we are delighted to have effectively doubled capacity for summer 2010. We are confident that those who live and work in Jersey will take the opportunity to visit Düsseldorf and beyond with Air Berlin".
