Suchada Saengarun appointed General Manager of U Chiang Mai

Ms. Suchada Saengarun has been appointed as the new general manager of the U Chiang Mai, effective 1 August 2009.

Suchada takes over the realm from Surapan Somthai who has been appointed pre-opening general manager for new Bangkok projects and will be based at the U Hotels & Resorts corporate office in Bangkok.
Ms. Suchada Saengarun, who has a Bachelor of Art - Tourism Industry Management from Mahidol University International College, began her career as duty manager at Novotel Siam Bangkok in 2000.
After that she decided to explore her career outside of Thailand, and took up a position as room division manager at Villa Santi Hotel & Resort in Laos and later at The Grand Luang Prabang Hotel with the same position.

In 2003, she returned to Thailand to join Accor as human resources coordinator and was promoted to be junior graduates and mobility coordinator Asia in 2005.
Prior to joining U Chiang Mai, she was group administration and development manager at the corporate office of Ibis Erawan Thailand to assist with the opening of Ibis hotels in Thailand.

Mr. Surapan Somthai, a 25-year hospitality veteran, will take up a new role as pre-opening general manager for the new soon to open U Hotels & Resorts in Bangkok.

U Chiang Mai is a new boutique hotel located in the heart of Chiang Mai on Ratchadamnoen Road. The hotel is just 20 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport.
The U Chiang Mai was awarded the Historical Architectural Conservation Hotel in 2009 by The Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage.
