Jetstar executives, tourism, community and business leaders gathered at Wellington Airport to celebrate the start of services between Wellington and Christchurch.

Modern A320 aircraft will service the route which was previously abandoned by Qantas Group.

Chief Executive Bruce Buchanan said the carrier would offer the lowest fares in the domestic market with a more refined schedule following the delivery of its third A320 aircraft.

The carrier has also introduced a new Lowest Fare Finder application to its dedicated website Jetstar.com.
Passengers simply search for a particular flight over a period of 30 days and Lowest Fare Finder will generate the lowest fare available on each day.
