Perth Airport's Airline On Time Performance figures for May, released by the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE), show Perth Airport rated first in Australia for capital city airport departures with 89.5% of all flights departing on time, and first for capital city airport arrivals with 88.8% of all flights arriving on time.
Perth Airport CEO, Brad Geatches commented: “We are extremely pleased to see Perth Airport's on time performance rated first against the other capital city airports. This is the first time this year that we have been rated number one for both departures and arrivals which reflects the concerted effort made by the airport and the airlines to improve on time performance.
“Improving airport facilities is also a priority, with works at the front of the international and domestic terminals well underway. Qantas is also making good progress with improvements to its domestic terminal. These improvements will continue to contribute to a more streamlined passenger experience and will sustain our on time performance going forward.”
In accordance with industry standards, an 'on-time' arrival or departure is one that arrives or departs at the designated gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival/departure time as shown in the carriers' schedule.
