Jacques Dubois, COO of Park Inn Hotels, said: "This is a key opening for the Park Inn brand, not only in the UK but also strategically for Rezidor, being our first city centre property in England's second city. The new Manchester hotel is our flagship Park Inn in the north of England and its central location and superior standard make it an exceptional addition to the Park Inn UK portfolio."

Ideal for both business and leisure guests, the new-build hotel has a prime location in the city centre's Green Quarter, adjacent to the MEN Arena and in close proximity to Manchester Central, the newly named convention centre and GMEX complex. Both Victoria and Piccadilly train stations and Manchester's extensive tram system are close by, with Manchester Airport only 20 minutes away in a taxi.

The new hotel – which is the 24th Park Inn in the company's UK portfolio – offers 252 guest rooms, including Business Friendly rooms, suites and accessible rooms for disabled guests. Designed to be functional and easy to use, the guest rooms have a fresh and contemporary style and offer in-room laptop-size safes, air conditioning, flat-screen TV's showing multiple channels and bathrooms with walk-in shower rooms.

The hotel offers five modern and flexible meeting rooms, each with natural daylight and individual climate control, plus a large conference space which is divisible by three and accommodates over 200 delegates theatre style or 180 guests for a private dinner.

The open plan lobby and reception area opens into the lounge and bar and offers comfortable sofas and chairs, all with natural daylight. The area is perfect for relaxing with a coffee or drink and, with high-speed wireless internet access available throughout the hotel, it is great for informal meetings or for catching up with emails.

RBG Bar & Grill, the new restaurant concept recently launched for the Park Inn brand, tempts guests with gourmet burgers, light bites and a choice of signature dishes from the grill, whilst aperitifs and after dinner drinks can be taken at the bar or on the large outdoor terrace overlooking the Green Quarter.

Manchester has something to offer for everyone. The city has great restaurants and nightlife, over 90 museums and art galleries, the MEN Arena with a year-round schedule of concerts and events, plus of course the city's religion of football. And for shopping lovers, the city has it all. Whether you are a label-lover, bargain-hunter, or a devotee of the high street, within a neat square mile shoppers can splash out on designer pieces or dive into a shiny shopping mall – it's pure shopping heaven!

After a busy day in the city, guests can relax and indulge themselves by using the extensive health and leisure facilities which include a large swimming pool, a gym, a sauna and steam room and two treatment rooms.

Park Inn is a symbol for young, fresh and innovative mid market properties. Having opened the first Park Inn in the UK at London Heathrow in May 2004, Park Inn hotels are now present across the UK, with locations including Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, London and York.
