Jetstar expands its Singapore presence bringing more low fares to consumers between the two Asian capitals.
The new daily A320 return flight starting 1 October 2009 is an incremental service and will grow Jetstar's existing Singapore-Bangkok service from twice to three times daily.
Jetstar's growth on the Singapore-Bangkok route comes as a direct result of the Jetstar Group's renewed focus on leveraging synergies and Jetstar Group assets between the Jetstar operation in Australia and the Singapore based Jetstar Asia/Valuair operation.
Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Bruce Buchanan said customers would be the beneficiary of airlines in the Jetstar Group working more closely together.
"Our proposed greater alignment between Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and Valuair is already providing new flying opportunities for our customers to access more low fares to more places in the region," Mr Buchanan said.
Jetstar Asia and Valuair Chief Executive Officer Ms Chong Phit Lian said the additional daily service to the Thai capital would build a more robust schedule between Singapore and Bangkok for both leisure and business flyers.
