Bangkok Airways, a private carrier, now connects Bangkok and Phnom Penh with three daily flights.
Recently the airline added an afternoon flight that departs Bangkok at 1:30pm and arrives in the Cambodian capital at 3:30pm. Aimed primarily at business travellers and tourists, it plies the route using the dual-class Airbus 319. The aircraft has 108 seats in the economy class and 12 recliner seats with private monitors in business class.
According to the airline's vice president for sales, Ariya Prasarttong-Osoth, the increase in flight frequency should help facilitate tourist traffic between the two capitals.
Until June 30, it is offering a special airfare priced at 9,900 baht for business class passengers. The price does not include airport taxes, fuel surcharge and insurance. Tickets can be booked via Bangkok Airways' call centre at 1771.
