The Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo has launched an Azuma Odori accommodation package, which includes premium seats for the 85th Azuma Odori geisha dance performances at Shinbashi Enbujo Theatre in Ginza, Tokyo.

This cultural accommodation package provides a rare opportunity for guests to experience the country’s rich traditional traditions first hand.

Founded more than 150 years ago, Shinbashi Karyukai has been renowned since the Meiji era as one of the most exclusive groups of geisha in Japan. When the Shinbashi Enbujo Theatre first opened its doors in 1925, there were dance performances of Azuma Odori, performed by the geisha of the Shinbashi Karyukai. The theatre still stages grand events that give geisha a chance to display their traditional dancing, singing, and shamisen playing skills honed over many years of rigorous training.
