Fans of the world of fashion will not want to miss the annual Paris Fashion Week at the end of January.

Famed as one of the world's finest fashion weeks, the event promises to be an extravaganza of some of the greatest fashion designers on the planet.

Although many of the events are by invitation only and for those in the industry, it is a great time to visit the world fashion capital.

For those lucky enough to get an invitation, the shows take place at the Carrousel du Louvre between January 22nd and 29th, with various ready-to-wear, couture and menswear shows on display.

However, for those who simply want to soak up some of Paris' fashionable atmosphere and hit the shops, there are plenty of options to choose from.

The Paris sales are among some of the best and January is definately the time to visit them.

World famous stores such as Colette on the rue du Faubourg Saint Honore is a great option for upmarket buys and for the more finance conscious there is the option of the Saint Ouen flea market, although getting lost on the streets of the city is part of the fun.
